Families shouldn’t face terminal illness alone. Through our Hope@Home™ Groups, families experience a compassionate, connected community where they are supported. YOU can be part of that impact.

Whether you have 30 minutes or a few hours to give each week, there’s a meaningful way for you to serve from wherever you are.

What Are Hope@Home™ Groups?

Hope@Home™ Groups are virtual communities of support for young families facing a parent’s terminal illness. These groups are possible because of amazing volunteers—everyday heroes who bring consistency, encouragement, and connection through small but mighty acts of service.

We’re growing our team with passionate, empathetic individuals who want to make a real difference. You don’t need special training—just a willing heart and a little time.

Our volunteer roles give you the ability to use your talents in a way that works best with your schedule. Opportunities include:

  • Facilitators: Lead weekly Zoom group calls using easy-to-follow conversation guides developed by a Child Life Specialist. You’ll help families feel seen, heard, and supported—all through simple, authentic conversation.
  • Content Creators: Love social media? Help create weekly posts and daily stories using user-friendly templates. This role fuels our mission’s reach and keeps families informed and encouraged.
  • Data Entry: Prefer serving behind the scenes? Help us strengthen referral networks by entering data with easy-to-use systems and scripts. Flexible timelines mean you can contribute when it works for you.
  • Calling Teams: Be a voice of encouragement. Our calling teams reach out to new families to gather important info, help with support group placement, and check in with returning families to offer continued care.

A small act like sending a message, making a call, or creating a post can make a big impact on families. During an unimaginable time, your consistency and kindness can offer a lifeline of hope. As one volunteer said:

“When you don’t know what to say, now there is something you can do.”
