Celebrating 50 Legacy Retreats

Inheritance of Hope recently hit a milestone: our 50th Legacy Retreat®!

St. Louis Legacy Retreat®, September 2024

When Inheritance of Hope (IoH) began in 2007, Co-Founders Kristen and Deric Milligan wanted to provide tools to help families be intentional with their legacy. Legacy Retreats® were created as a way to accomplish this and have been a meaningful IoH offering ever since. The first Legacy Retreat® was in 2008 in Lake George, NY.

A Legacy Retreat® is a memorable getaway for families facing the loss of a parent due to terminal illness to build lasting legacy with their kids and to know they will be okay. During our St. Louis Legacy Retreat®, families had the opportunity to build community with others living with illness and loving volunteers, created lasting memories, and gained tools for being intentional.

Many families have been impacted by a Legacy Retreat® over the years. One participant shares:

“This has been an amazing experience. Every family going through a terminal diagnosis should be so lucky to participate with IoH. What a gift. The retreat was well managed & my family felt so special. It was so valuable to meet others & connect with them in such an intimate way.”

We’re excited for more families to gain community and memories in the future. Want to get involved?
