Zak is a college freshman who lost his dad to ALS this past summer. His mom has been attending Hope Hub™ Jacksonville and was recently able to bring Zak with her for the first time.
Hope Hub™ teen group facilitator, Matt, spent some one-on-one time with Zak and they talked about sports together. Simple, right? At the end of the night, Zak remarked that it was so awesome because “I haven’t been able to talk sports with anyone since my dad died.”
ONE simple conversation about sports was so impactful and made him feel like God’s favorite child. How can you show up for the ONE in a simple way that has a lasting impact? Be a listening ear, send them a card, talk about their passion – just be there for them.
