This past weekend, Team Inheritance of Hope members participated in the 35th running of the Marine Corps Marathon. The weekend began on Friday, with Inheritance of Hope hosting a booth at the Marine Corps Marathon Expo held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
Over 100,000 people visited the Expo, many stopping by the IOH booth to hear about the mission of our charity. IOH runners gathered their team ‘goodie bag’ either at the Expo or at the Pasta Dinner held on Saturday night in Alexandria, VA.
38 people joined Team IOH for the Marine Corps Marathon and raised over $22,000. Robert Beam, from Kentucky, was the highest fundraiser, raising $3,028. Robert won an iPod Nano in a drawing for runners raising over $1,000 by September 15.
Inheritance of Hope also hosted a tent in Charity Village – which was available for IOH runners before and after the race.
The weather was perfect and the Team was awesome. Our hats off to our CHAMPIONS! Congratulations to each one of you!
