Our weekend was filled with joy, family, inclusion, hope, knowing we are not alone, we are supported, and loved. Our family loved seeing Miss Madi on the screen and knowing she was just on the other side of our state! My daughters have reflected on our weekend so many times. My oldest daughter remembers meeting other kids and hearing their stories. My youngest daughter adored the eggs (I’m sworn to secrecy… you will have to experience a Hope@Home Weekend to find out more!).
Aaralyn Van Der Sloot smashing her worries!
My husband reflects on meeting other caregivers and how positive of an experience that was. My favorite thing was Miss Haley. Miss Haley volunteers her time taking photos of families like mine. She came and captured beautiful memories of our whole family. Finally, I had a beautiful opportunity to create a Legacy Video for my family. It was so easy to work with Jane, a volunteer who specializes in walking alongside people as they create Legacy Videos. Our Hope@Home Weekend was life changing for our family. One day, we hope to attend a Legacy Retreat and meet our special volunteers face to face as well as connect with even more families like ours. We have remained friends with Miss Madi, Miss Haley and have also kept in contact with so many of the families we met during our weekend.
