God is Always Faithful – May 2017

Heather originally shared this in preparation for the May 6 Hunter Subaru Legacy Run.

When life is challenging, even though I know I am doing what God has called me to do, I often forget that He wants me to succeed and delights in blessing me!  The staff and volunteers of Inheritance of Hope earnestly seek God’s face and His will and strive to know and follow His word.

Just like our Legacy Retreats, we are committing this race to Him and desire for Him to be glorified in it above all else.  According to His word, He will grant us favor.  So today I just want to praise God for that truth and rest in it for a moment, for He is always faithful, and we are precious to Him.  How cool is that!?

Praise God that He is with us, that He goes before us, and that He desires for us to succeed as we put His kingdom first.

*Since I struggle with this one so much, I needed a lot of scriptural evidence.  Feel free to read as much or as little as you want… or come back to it later.  I’m sure I will be revisiting it. 😉

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
    because the LORD has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners.  -Isaiah 61:1

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.  Amen.  -Hebrews 13:20-21

Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
    and he will establish your plans.  -Proverbs 16:3

And observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses.  Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.  -1 Kings 2:3

Blessed is the one
    who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
    or sit in the company of mockers,
 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
    and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
    which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.  -Psalm 1:1-3

He holds success in store for the upright,
    he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.  -Proverbs 2:7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.  -Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the LORD,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.  -Psalm 37:3-4

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  -Matthew 6:33

Then the LORD your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land.  The LORD will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your ancestors, if you obey the LORD your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.  -Deuteronomy 30:9-10

For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
    the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.  -Psalm 84:11

For the LORD takes delight in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.  -Psalm 149:4

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share your master’s happiness!’”  -Matthew 25:23

…etc.  God doesn’t play around with this promise!
