The Power of Partnership: Celebrating I Love My Credit Union Day

by Anna Conti | Jul 31, 2026 | Intentional Living

July 31 is “I Love My Credit Union Day”—a day that celebrates and recognizes the credit unions that put people first, strengthen local communities, and invest in causes that make a lasting difference. We’re honored to highlight our partners at the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association for the life-changing impact they continue to make on young families facing the loss of a parent.

One of the core Cooperative Principles from the National Credit Union Foundation is community. This is a value that the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association is very passionate about, which inspired a partnership with Inheritance of Hope that started in 2021. Families facing terminal illness often feel hopelessly alone, like no one cares, but thanks to the Association’s partnership, these families can find a community that “gets it.”

Through fundraising and awareness events like their annual Boots & Bowties Gala, the Association has partnered with Inheritance of Hope by making the Nashville Legacy Retreat® possible for these families. Because of their generosity, families facing terminal illness have experienced moments of joy in the midst of sorrow (jorrow™). Parents and children gain practical tools and support, build community with others who understand what they’re facing, and create lasting memories together. The experience has provided families with a renewed hope that continues long after the retreat ends.

When organizations invest in their communities, they become part of stories of resilience and hope. And that’s exactly what the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association has done for Inheritance of Hope families. Not only have they partnered in raising funds and awareness, but also through meaningful volunteer work. Many employees from the Association have served on the Nashville Legacy Retreat®, spreading light to the families they served.

On this I Love My Credit Union Day, we want to say a big thank you to the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association for truly making a difference. Your commitment to community and serving people has provided an incredible gift to families facing terminal illness. We are so thankful to partner together!

Anna Conti is the Marketing & Communications Manager at Inheritance of Hope. When she was 15, her dad was diagnosed with a rare stage four cancer. During this time, Anna felt isolated because she did not know any other kids who knew what it was like to have a terminally ill parent.  In 2011, the Conti family attended an Inheritance of Hope Legacy Retreat®, an experience that was truly life-changing for them all. Inspired to give back and help other families, Anna served as a volunteer for many years before coming on staff full time in 2021. Anna currently lives in the Atlanta, GA area.
