Often, we find ourselves seeking direction in the big and small decisions and moments in our lives. It is important to remember that the path we are on is God’s plan for us.
Trusting fully in God is something that we are called to do, but it can be challenging, especially when life is tough and things aren’t working out the way that we hoped or planned. It is natural and ok to question why things happen, but we have a limited understanding of the world, our future, and what is going on in our lives. This is why God sacrificed for us. Our understanding is limited, God’s is unlimited. By trusting in God and knowing He cares about us and has a path for us, we can give it all to Him.
A couple of months ago, I was in a situation that caused me a lot of anxiety and angst. I prayed for this upcoming situation and asked God to ease my anxieties and worries. I gave it all to Him. I prayed and told Him my worries and fears, and asked that He would help me through a period of anxiety in a way that would align with His plans for me. When the moment that had been causing me unease came, I was sitting waiting for it when I felt a hand lightly squeeze my shoulder. It was so incredibly real that I turned to look to see if someone was behind me. There was no one remotely close enough to have touched me. I knew at that moment that God had heard my prayers and was present for me. I knew that everything was going to be ok–and it was.
Not all moments of God’s presence may feel so strong. Honestly, it’s unrealistic to ask God to have a tangible presence in every moment that is causing trials in life, but it is important to remember that He is there for us through good times, bad times, and everything in between. He asks that we bring Him our worries, concerns, anxieties, and happiness too. Though God’s guidance may not always be seen, our path is His plan. Surrender your worries to God, give it all to him, pray and tell him what is going on, trust in Him and His plans through the good and the bad that life inevitably presents. Trust in Him.
Lord God, I pray You’ll be with everyone who hears this message and help all Your people to know that You are with them, love them, and hear them. I pray that You help anyone who is struggling to find You and give it all to You, knowing that You are with them unconditionally and that You have a plan for them. You are intentional and good, and we trust Your will with all of our hearts and know that in good times and in bad times, You are a trustworthy shoulder to lean on. You are so so good and I pray that You are present in our lives and help in the way that we need it most. We love you so much.
Amen.
