Don’t Grow Weary

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

– Galatians 6:9

We made it to day 2 of the Legacy Retreat®! We’ve already poured ourselves out in so many ways–physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We’ve shown up with joy, energy, and kindness. We’ve knelt beside children to play, sat quietly with parents navigating the unimaginable, and supported one another as a team!

Today, I want to encourage you: don’t underestimate what God is doing through you!

This is the day when hearts begin to soften. Trust is growing. Walls are slowly coming down. Families are starting to feel the safe space we’ve created. And that means our presence matters more than ever.
We might be tired and already feeling the emotional weight of the weekend. And yet, this is where our faithfulness shines the brightest.
In Galatians 6:9, Paul reminds us not to grow weary in doing good, because the harvest–the fruit of our love, time, and kindness–is often right around the corner.
So what does that look like today?
It might look like choosing patience when a child is having a hard time.
It might be offering your full attention to a parent who needs to tell their story.
It might look like noticing the volunteer beside you who needs a moment of encouragement or prayer.
Or it might be just sitting in silence with someone.
We’re here to carry a bit of hope into places that have felt heavy for a long time. One of the most powerful things Jesus did during His time on earth was to be with people. He sat at their tables and saw their hearts. I like to think that’s exactly what we are doing this weekend!
So today, serve with joy, love without hesitation, and trust that these moments are making an eternal difference.

Father, thank You for the privilege of serving these families. On this day, when we may feel the weight of the weekend, give us renewed strength and grace. Help us to see every moment today as sacred. Keep our hearts soft, our minds focused, and our words filled with life. Use us, Lord, not because we are perfect, but because You are. Let every interaction reflect Your hope. We trust You to do what only You can do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
