Team IOH will be represented in four of the five 2012 Disney Marathon weekend events coming up this weekend!  We are excited that an IOH family that attended the November 2010 NYC Legacy Retreat will be participating in the 5K!

The Spears family will be running through Epcot this Friday morning to show their support of Inheritance of Hope as well as enjoy achieving the goal of participating as a family in a Disney 5K – their first 5K ever!

Kasandra wrote on the family’s personal fundraising webpage:

We are planning to participate in our first 5K.  IOH is the most wonderful group of folks.  As a family we decided we wanted to do something together to give back to IOH.  We participated in the 2010 NYC Legacy Retreat and it was life changing.  Help us support IOH so that others can build a legacy for their family.

Team members will also be running in the Disney Half Marathon (13.1 miles), the Disney Full Marathon (26.2 miles)  and the Goofy’s Challenge which includes the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday – a total of 39.3 miles in two days!   The Team Pasta Dinner will be held on Saturday night of the race weekend at the UNO Chicago Grill in Downtown Disney.

Last year Caroline Lamar completed the Goofy as she supported Team IOH.  This year Caroline will again be running with Team IOH but this time in the marathon on Sunday.  Our list of teammates includes college students, professionals, and families, including children.  We have runners that are new to the organization and runners that are returning, runners coming from the west and from the east, north and south!

It’s going to be a great weekend!
