This past weekend, we experienced something that truly changed our lives forever.
We were blessed to attend a Legacy Retreat® with Inheritance of Hope—a Christian organization that pours love into families facing a parent’s terminal illness while raising children under 18. And when I say they take care of you… I mean everything.

From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by love, intention, and community.
They brought us to the Fort Worth Stockyards, where we got to experience the rodeo and create memories we will never forget. We went out to eat, went shopping, laughed, explored — and never once had to worry about the cost, because everything was covered through their generosity.

They even gifted us a beautiful family photo shoot—capturing moments we’ll now be able to hold onto forever.
But what made this weekend so special wasn’t just what we did… it was who we did it with.
We met other families walking a journey so similar to ours. Families who get it without explanation. Through group sessions led by caring facilitators, we were given space to process, connect, and find strength together—something Inheritance of Hope intentionally creates to help families cope while building lasting bonds.
They welcomed us with a party that made us feel seen and celebrated, and even gave us a beautiful experience at the Kendra Scott Color Bar. Every detail was thoughtful. Every moment felt intentional.

And the volunteers… I don’t even have the words.
We were paired with three of the most incredible people who didn’t just “help” us—they loved us. They showed up for us, cared for us, laughed with us, and in just one weekend… became family.
That’s what Inheritance of Hope does.
They don’t just create a getaway—they create a space where families can breathe, connect, and make memories that will last forever. A space where, even in the middle of something so heavy, there is still joy, hope, and community.

We were only there for a weekend… and we already miss it so much.
Forever grateful. Forever changed. Thank you Inheritance of Hope.
