Our family is growing.  Inheritance of Hope now has a roster of 300+ amazing volunteers!  On our Orlando Legacy Retreat in April, we were thrilled to welcome the following into our ranks:

Ethan Baur, Clara Beovich, Caroline Braun, Mara Caples, Ally Dee, Anna Latimer, Emileah Most, Micah Most, Sara Theisen, Ethan Trejo, and Cheryl Yeaton.

Get to know them a little better here!

In this group, we have…

• Two former family members served: Anna Latimer and Micah Most
• Two more volunteers who were connected to IoH through former family members served: Clara Beovich (through Spencer Reid) and Emileah Most (Micah Most)
• Three high school seniors
• Five Minnesotans!
• Two Texans, two Floridians
• One teacher

Anna Latimer said coming back into the IoH family was even more welcoming than she imagined it would be. When she can, this movie buff watches a film almost every day, and her all-time favorite is The Sound of Music.

Ally Dee works for Kendra Scott and was introduced to IoH on Holley Day, “I got talking with the IoH rep that came to our store and knew immediately that I had to be a part of something so wonderful.”  She was pleasantly surprised by “how I felt like I gained a new family,” and will always remember the smiles and laughter when she and the child she was with both got soaked by Shamu!

Micah Most, an outdoor enthusiast who loves backpacking, was already a part of the IoH family, and in Orlando he introduced his wife Emileah to the entire clan. This might have been their first retreat as volunteers, but it won’t be their last,  “I am planning to come back because of the great amount of good I can see IoH is doing for the families served. As a recipient of that kind of love, it makes me twice as excited to serve more families in the future.”

Sara Theisen, one of our Minnesotans, grew up deer hunting and still goes with her family every fall.   She didn’t hesitate when asked about her favorite retreat moment. “On Sunday morning during breakfast, the girl in the family I was serving smiled at me and said, ‘You’re my best friend!’  What a God-moment!”

Clara Beovich came to Orlando with her daughter, second-time volunteer Alexa Beovich, and says, “I was completely blown away by the compassion of every single volunteer that I met.  Everyone was so supportive, to other volunteers and to the families they were assigned to, and it was a blessing to be part of it.”

Angie Howell is constantly inspired by the people she meets in the Inheritance of Hope family.  Her connection to IoH goes back to Davidson College, where she met Kristen Grady Milligan the first week of their freshman year. Kristen eventually started Inheritance of Hope with her husband Deric, and Angie heard about their work at a college reunion.  In 2010, the two former hallmates got back in touch, and Angie became involved in IoH shortly afterwards. She  has served as a Legacy Retreat volunteer, Coordinator, and now, as Communications Manager, Angie helps tell the stories of IoH. Read more Inheritance of Hope blogposts >>
