Love

Every morning when I send my kids off to school I say a prayer with them .  We pray for God to protect them throughout their day and they often ask for help with their spelling tests or a good lunch option in the cafeteria.  😉 But I always end the prayer this way, “God, help us show your love to those around us today.”

Do you know what that looks like?

Pull some weeds for your elderly neighbor.

Make friends with the kid at school who is always alone.

Help a mom struggling with her child in the grocery store load her groceries in the car.

Write a card to your Grandma thanking her for her role in your life.

Send an email to a friend with encouragement.

Pay for the meal of the person behind you in the fast food drive through.

Bring your spouse a special meal to work.

Donate blood.

Adopt or Foster a child.

It’s really all about looking for opportunities to serve someone else.  It could be a stranger or your closest family member.  The beautiful thing is that through this genuine act they can KNOW God’s love!

It is not always easy.  Sometimes showing God’s love to others requires a HUGE sacrifice.

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, Ryan 3. The boys
began to argue over who would get the first pancake.

Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. “If Jesus were
sitting here, He would say, ‘Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'”

Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, “Ryan, you be Jesus!”

It’s not always easy…but it is what Christians have been called to do.  If you are a Christian, you have an amazing opportunity.  Don’t miss it!

If you are not a Christian I pray you KNOW God’s love through someone you encounter TODAY!
