My name is Meredith McDaniel and I am excited to launch a new blog today called "Hope at Home" !
I would like to take a moment to introduce the voice behind upcoming articles.
I have been married to my husband Ben (pictured above) for almost 6 years. We have two sons, Grady (3) & Jude (6 months). We live in the small college town of Davidson, North Carolina just north of Charlotte. I attended North Carolina State University and graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies, with a focused study on "Religious, Social, & Psychological Aspects of the Family". I attended graduate school at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and graduated with my Masters in Christian Counseling. I am now working as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in private practice & with Inheritance of Hope. My husband is on staff with Young Life and spends much of his time with teenagers & college students in our area. We both share a passion for loving kids, teenagers, & students and it is our desire to offer them love & hope right where they are, just as they are. I have been serving on Legacy Retreats with IOH as the counselor for teens & am looking forward to launching this blog for you to reference at your convenience from home!
It is our goal at Inheritance of Hope, that through this blog, we can take another step into the lives of the families that attend Legacy Retreats by providing a resource to parents before & after the "mountain high" of the retreat itself. "Hope at Home" will be a space that will allow families & individuals to read more about the philosophy we have on possible ways to love your kids in the midst of pain, joy, suffering, healing, loss, excitement, and every other emotion (you fill in the blank) that swirls in your heart while dealing with illness as a family. We want to equip you & your kids (young & old) with as many tools as possible to live life on a daily basis, even in the midst of sickness. Please join us as we embark on this journey together!
