    Run for families...

    Help Inheritance of Hope provide retreats for families with children who have a parent with a life-threatening illness!

    ** Your registration with Team Inheritance of Hope includes **

    1) Runner's World® 52 week Training Journal filled with tips for runners of all abilities
    2) Race Registration
    3) a Team Inheritance of Hope performance race shirt, t-shirt, and hat
    4) the following fundraising materials: a) the opportunity to build a personalized page on our website (sample page) b) tax-exempt donation forms  c) a form letter for potential supporters

    ** What are my responsibilities as a member of Team Inheritance of Hope in the Big Sur Half Marathon? **

    Team members commit to raise:

    $1,000

    to help Inheritance of Hope provide retreats for families with children who have a parent with a life-threatening illness.  Applicants are required to provide credit card information as a guarantee.  However, your credit card will only be charged for the balance remaining if we have not received donations totaling $1,000 by November 7, 2010.

    The registration form is prepopulated with "0.00" as the amount and a comment to indicate your registration.  To avoid your card being charged when you sign up, please leave the amount as "0.00."

    Immediate family members sign up at half the fundraising commitment of the original team member!

    Join Team Inheritance of Hope for the Big Sur Half Marathon!

    How will my donation help? Join Team Inheritance of Hope and help Inheritance of Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving families with children who have a parent with a life-threatening illness.  With your contribution, you can share in the joy of helping to build legacies for families who are facing a tremendous challenge in their lives.

    Inheritance of Hope coordinates and hosts Legacy Retreats for families with children under 18 who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Because of generous supporters like you, their Retreats are provided at absolutely no cost to the participating families. These events offer unique and fun activities for parents and children together, forming precious, lifelong memories for the whole family. They also create a community of people who find comfort in knowing that they are not alone in their struggles. Just as importantly, these Retreats are restful – a rare luxury for ill parents. Beyond the Family Retreats, Inheritance of Hope also offers a scholarship, inspirational literature, and speaking engagements that address the deep needs of these families.

    Inheritance of Hope is a young organization with a big vision. In the United States, there are over one million family members facing the challenges of a parent’s life-threatening illness. These families’ entire lives become consumed by the illness, leaving them without the resources to plan or pay for meaningful family time. Inheritance of Hope’s vision is that “Every Family Deserves a Legacy.”®
