WELCOME TO TAMMY'S PAGE!
This is my first half marathon!! Training has been very tough, considering I am really not fond of running. I would rather dance, lift weights, or something other than running to lose leftover baby weight. Now mind you, I had 2 babies in 2 years, and I have an amazing husband that has stayed lean and beautiful during both of my pregnancies!!!!! So...... I decided, with some hesitation, to train for this half marathon. I run 3x/week, every week increasing my distance. Some days are easier than others. But now I am getting it! I take every run day as it comes and just go! I have 2 little boys. Jackson is 3 years, and Colton is 1 year. Those 3 days I run for my babies. I want them to grow and understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. On March 21st, I am not only running for my babies, but other babies that do not have parents that are as healthy as you and I. I want to be part of Inheritance of Hope's mission to improve the well-being of the familes that are affected by a parent's life-threatening illness. I send this to those that love me and love my family. I ask you to please help me raise the goal amount of $1,000! Thank you so much for your support!!! Inheritance of Hope coordinates and hosts Family Retreats for families with children under 18 who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Because of generous supporters like you, their Retreats are provided at absolutely no cost to the participating families. These events offer unique and fun activities for parents and children together, forming precious, lifelong memories for the whole family. They also create a community of people who find comfort in knowing that they are not alone in their struggles. Just as importantly, these Retreats are restful – a rare luxury for ill parents. Beyond the Family Retreats, Inheritance of Hope also offers a scholarship, inspirational literature, and speaking engagements that address the deep needs of these families. Inheritance of Hope is a young organization with a big vision. In the United States, there are over one million family members facing the challenges of a parent’s terminal illness. These families’ entire lives become consumed by the illness, leaving them without the resources to plan or pay for meaningful family time.
