WELCOME TO MINDY'S PAGE!
In January, I ran my first ½ marathon at Disney World (which was an appropriate location for my first marathon considering how much Stephen and I like vacationing at Disney World!) I enjoyed the experience very much and learned that Disney teams with many charities for the event. I decided to use my second marathon to help a good cause. Inheritance of Hope caught my eye with its unique mission of serving families with children who have a parent with alife-threatening illness. This mission touched me deeply because a good friend, Bobbi-Jo, lost her brother, Ron, to cancer last year. Ron and his wife, Stacey, have 3 young children and they could have benefited from an organization such as Inheritance of Hope. After this tragic loss, we all wondered how to support and reach out to their family. Now I have found a way to honor my friend’s brother. Please join me in exceeding my goal of raising $1,200 for Inheritance of Hope in memory of Ron with the hopes that we can touch many families through our collective support. Thanks in advance for your support! Mindy As a member of Team Inheritance of Hope, my participation in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on January 9, 2010 will raise funds and awareness for Inheritance of Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving families with children who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Help me meet (or exceed!) my goal of $1,200. With your contribution, we can share together in the joy of helping to build legacies for families who are facing a tremendous challenge in their lives. Inheritance of Hope coordinates and hosts Family Retreats for families with children under 18 who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Because of generous supporters like you, their Retreats are provided at absolutely no cost to the participating families. These events offer unique and fun activities for parents and children together, forming precious, lifelong memories for the whole family. They also create a community of people who find comfort in knowing that they are not alone in their struggles. Just as importantly, these Retreats are restful – a rare luxury for ill parents. Beyond the Family Retreats, Inheritance of Hope also offers a scholarship, inspirational literature, and speaking engagements that address the deep needs of these families. Inheritance of Hope is a young organization with a big vision. In the United States, there are over one million family members facing the challenges of a parent’s terminal illness. These families’ entire lives become consumed by the illness, leaving them without the resources to plan or pay for meaningful family time. Inheritance of Hope’s vision is that “Every Family Deserves a Legacy.”® Thanks for your support!!!
Inheritance of Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN 75-3243566. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
