WELCOME TO LISA'S PAGE!
As many of you already know, I have a personal stake in raising money for this charity. When I was diagnosed with intestinal Cancer back in April of 2006, my first thought was to my husband Dave, andmy two kids; Amber 21 at the time and Greg who was 14 at the time. What will happen to themif Iwas to die. I wish I knew about this wonderful charity "Inheritance of Hope" back then. Not only do I know that it would have helped me and my family, butI know it willhelp many others diagnosedwith alife threatening/terminal disease. I believe God has brought me to this charity because I was one of the lucky ones and my intestinal cancer did not metastasize to my pancreas, which Dave and I were unsure of until the day of my surgery. Inheritance of hope products and services provide direct benefits for the children and a proactive, therapeutic focus for the parent. Furthermore,Inheritance of Hopebelieves that preparing for the death of a parent while they are living will yield significant long-term benefits for children and loved ones, thereby minimizing the potentially catastrophic impact of even the most simple everyday living skills. My goal is to raise at least $2,000.00. Please help me reach that goal with your pledge. Your donation is tax deductible. My deadline to get my pledges in is January 7, 2010. Following the event, I will send out a brief recap and pictures of the Walt Disney World1/2 marathon to all my sponsors.
Thank you in advance not only in your support to support me, but more so for the families that face the news that no one ever wants to hear. With Love and Gratitude.. As a member of Team Inheritance of Hope, my participation in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on January 9, 2010 will raise funds and awareness for Inheritance of Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving families with children who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Help me meet (or exceed!) my goal of $2,000. With your contribution, we can share together in the joy of helping to build legacies for families who are facing a tremendous challenge in their lives. Inheritance of Hope coordinates and hosts Family Retreats for families with children under 18 who have a parent with a life-threatening illness. Because of generous supporters like you, their Retreats are provided at absolutely no cost to the participating families. These events offer unique and fun activities for parents and children together, forming precious, lifelong memories for the whole family. They also create a community of people who find comfort in knowing that they are not alone in their struggles. Just as importantly, these Retreats are restful – a rare luxury for ill parents. Beyond the Family Retreats, Inheritance of Hope also offers a scholarship, inspirational literature, and speaking engagements that address the deep needs of these families. Inheritance of Hope is a young organization with a big vision. In the United States, there are over one million family members facing the challenges of a parent’s terminal illness. These families’ entire lives become consumed by the illness, leaving them without the resources to plan or pay for meaningful family time. Inheritance of Hope’s vision is that “Every Family Deserves a Legacy.”® Thanks for your support!!!
Inheritance of Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN 75-3243566. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
