“Every Family Deserves a Legacy”®
Three days ago, we were all relative strangers, and now we are a family — a family that has laughed together, cried together, played together, and learned together. We have all been challenged to look at our lives and consider the legacy we want to leave behind. Certainly that legacy involves a lot of fun and great memories, but it also involves some intentional planning and action.
Our third day together was packed with fun. The big event was our much-anticipated whitewater rafting trip. Some of us were a little nervous about being at the mercy of the Sacandaga River, but we boarded our rafts in groups of eight and shoved off. Immediately we faced the Cliff Drop, which got our hearts racing! Then the pace slowed for a while, and some of the more adventurous among us jumped in for a cool swim. They had to climb back in, though, so that we could face the Dragon Back rapids and reach the finish line together. Even a light rain didn’t dampen the joy of our rafting experience!
Greetings from day 2 of the Inheritance of Hope Legacy Retreat! We had an incredibly beautiful day here with highs in the low 80’s and brilliant sunshine. Not only were the temperatures high, but all of us experienced great “highs” today, both literally and figuratively.
We are very excited that our Inheritance of Hope “family” has grown tremendously in the past 24 hours with the arrival of some amazing families to the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark in Lake George, NY. We welcomed families from all over the United States including Washington State, Nebraska, South Carolina, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Rhode Island. They were picked up from the airport, or drove to the Lodge, and were greeted by our wonderful volunteers who came from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, North Carolina and Michigan to serve these families. Despite early mornings and long travels, all the families arrived with huge smiles as they admired the beautiful lodge and checked out the Indoor Waterpark complete with three huge water slides, a lazy river, a wave rider, and a kiddie playzone.
