A New Suitcase!

Friday, January 13th, 2012 by Jill Thompson

I have a great job.

I get to meet beautiful families that are faced with some difficulties and plan a dream vacation for them.

The absolute BEST part of my job is the phone call when I tell them it is their turn to go on this dream vacation.

Many people cry. They all echo words of gratitude and emotion. Many are overwhelmed and even slightly speechless. Read the rest of this entry »

This past weekend was an incredible memory for me! I completed my first marathon with an amazing group of people.

We all ran to support Inheritance of Hope.

We ran so that families with young children who have a parent facing a life-threatening illness can experience joy in memories, comfort in community and hope in their circumstances. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a Little Tea Cup

Monday, October 11th, 2010 by Jill Thompson

I was watching a movie with my son this week….The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian. There is a climactic moment in the movie when the Narnians are fighting the Telmarines and things are not going well for the good guys.  King Peter makes the decision to pull his troops out and he yells at the top of his lungs, “RETREAT…RETREAT….RETREAT!!!”  This message is yelled until the entire army hears the order and pulls back to safety. Friday, July 16th, 2010 by Jill Thompson

Several years ago I received a phone call from my best friend’s husband that she had come out of surgery well, but the tumor was malignant.  I had been called to their home to take care of their children, as well as my own, while they had rushed to a nearby hospital to get the surgery.  As I continued with the daily activities of caring for all the little people surrounding me, I had to take a moment to stop and do the only thing I could think of doing at that moment.  I got on my knees and, through my tears, I prayed for my friend.  I prayed for her husband and her sweet children who I adore.  I prayed for healing and peace and hope.
